  Sunny, Wolvercote outside the pub for a pint in the sun. Moored Wise Alderman. Mark F joined for a pint Moving boats = 1

  Foggy. Bought bags of Coalite at Autotrade (Rock of Gibraltar) Lunch above Pigeons lock, moored above Allen's lock. Moving boats = 4

  Up to Aynho to wind (backwards!). Pint at Gt Western, then back to moor at the quarry in the dark. Moving boats = 2

  To Wise Alderman for a lunchtime pint (or3) - joined by Hils, Sam, Nial, and Dad. On to moor below Wolvercote lock. Moving boats = 1

Sunday 12/4/98 ASN Arrived at Cropredy. There had been floods 2ft over towpath - luckily someone had slackened our ropes!

  Drove down to yard to pick up Sandra, Odette and Tom who are on for the day to get used to B-Hive. Up to bottom of Claydon for lunch.some snow - back down to Cropredy.  
Tuesday 14/4/98   Up to moor above Claydon #3 - visited bygones museum. Up to Fenny for supplies, then wound at the George - now the Wharf. Contact home by landline - no mobile coverage

  Snow - snowball fight! Changed to rain by the bottom of Claydon,  stop at Cropredy for lunch, then moored Banbury

  Market, then below Kings Sutton for lunch. Got to Nell Bridge - too much water to get through the lock. 8 boats waiting by 5pm. Walked down to Ayhno lock - stream across the front ~ 6mph and lock filling over the top gate. Gave up and phoned Sam to get me to the yard to pick up the van.

Tuesday 16/6/98   Thrupp for lunch, moored Lower Heyford bridge. Bell very empty and high prices!  
Wednesday 17/6/98   Intended to wind at Somerton bridge - but B-hiev is too long. Moored above Somerton deep for lunch, then on to Aynho to wind. Then back to previous mooring for the night.  
Thursday 18/7/98   Delayed start due to log jamming bottom gate, BW came out to fix it. Moored at Thrupp for the pub.

  Fine sunny day - down to College for PO, then moored at the yard. Car collected from Abingdon.  
Saturday 20/7/98   Packed up.  
       
Saturday 20/6/98 Pete and Mary, Sandra, Tom and Odette A there to show them aboard. Much unpacking, then to Kidlington for the pub.  
Sunday 21/6/98   Off before breakfast, stopped at Thrupp to eat. Moored at Upper Heyford. Walked up the hill to the Barley Mow to fidn no food being served.  
Monday 22/6/98   Up to Banbury.  
Tuesday 23/6/98   Supplies shopping, Left late, Gt Western at Aynho for lunch. Moored Cropredy.  
Wednesday 24/6/98   Moored at the top lock at Napton, walked down to the pub - food very expensive so walked back for dinner on board.  
Thursday 25/6/98   Napton Bridge Inn for lunch, then to Braunston.   
Friday 26/6/98   Left Braunston in heavy rain, back to Napton Bridge for lunch and the rest of the day.  
Saturday 27/6/98   Rain to start, cleared by top lock. Moored near Claydon.  
Sunday 28/6/98   Down to Cropredy - Red Lion for lunch - then stayed.  
Monday 29/6/98   Short day down to Banbury for supplies.  
Tuesday 30/6/98   Easy run down to Aynho for lunch - then stayed  
Wednesday 1/7/98   Sunny day - down to Thrupp and the Boat for evening meal  
Thursday 1/7/98   Down to the yard to moor for a couple of days sight seeing  
Friday 2/7/98   Museum etc.  
       
Saturday 11/7/98 Ro, Paddy, Jon, Helen Arrived at 9pm and straight to the pub!

  Late lunch at the Wise Alderman, moored above Pigeons in increasing rain and wind.  
Monday 13/7/98   Lower Heyford for PO at12, then on a bit before stopping for lunch. Afternoon to Aynho, Gt Western in the evening.  
Tuesday 14/7/98   Fried breakfast! Overflowing toile - only water thankfully. No PO at Aynho - short-staffed. managed to get one at Banbury. Supplies bought.  
Wednesday 15/7/98   Lots of shopping, cast off 4pm, back to Aynho.Attacked by a swan after Nell Bridge. Aynho at 20:15.  
Thursday 16/7/98   Late start - waiting for Jo but her car was misbehaving so didn't make it. Rock of Gibraltar hoping for food - but they had stopped serving.  
Friday 17/7/98   Rainy and windy, R managed to get sunburnt! Yard by 17:30  
Saturday 18/7/98   Cleaning and packing up.  
       
Saturday 25/7/98 SAN, Hils, Nial, Dad Day trip to Sandford lock and back. Back at the yard, reversing up the lock and then to mooring.  
       
Sunday 26/7/98 Jenny, Lucy, Emily Arrived 3pm, Alan saw them on board. BBQ  
Monday 27/7/98   At moorings - various things in Oxford  
Tuesday 28/7/98   At moorings. Wandered round Oxford, Browns restaurant. Hamlet in Magdalen College School gardens  
Wednesday 29/7/98 +Chrissie, Tony Down to Abingdon - meal at Mill on the Stream  
Thursday 30/7/98   Down to Pangbourne meadow - met Stan and Andrea - Chinese food  
Friday 31/7/98   Down to Henley - Italian restaurant.  
Saturday 1/8/98 +Glen Down to Maidenhead - pickup up Glen from the station. Pizza  
Sunday 2/8/98   Down to moor at Windsor. Wandered around  
Monday 3/8/98   Down to Hampton Court  
Tuesday 4/8/98   On to the River Wey - dinner at the White heart near New Hay lock  
Wednesday 5/8/98   Aiming for Guildford - Stopped at the Anchor.  
Thursday 6/8/98   Lucy, Glen and Emily seen off by coach. Wandered round Guildford  
Friday 7/8/98   Moved to Godalming after lunch - moored by Sainsburys and Homebase! Kings Arms for drinks  
Saturday 8/8/98 Susan, Dave, Jayne, Nick, Spike, Bluebell, Alan Changeover day. Car shuffling - Van brakes failed on the way back to Godalming. Had (early) birthday tea for Jenny.

  Jenny back to Poole, Alan drove van back to Poole, with supplies of brake fluid. Lunch at the Wey Barge, moored New Inn  Half of the journey back to Poole on handbrake only - an interesting trip.

  White Hart at New Haw lock for lunch, on to the Thames at 4:30, moored Hampton Court. Dave off for provisions.  
Tuesday 11/8/98   At moorings, Palace explored. Phone call to lock keeper to be told to be at Teddington at 7am

  Away early, through Teddington at 6:50. Brentford at 7:45, moored above gauging locks for breakfast at 8:25. Away again at 9:00, moored at Sainsbury's A|lperton

  Watered at Little Venice, moored opposite Battlebridge Basin. Spikes loosened by a group of lads - moved across to pub mooring. Visited by 4 police who had been told the lads had hijacked the boat!

  Uxbridge boat centre at 1pm, diesel gas and boat pole. General Elliot for lunch, moored above Stocks Lock (below Batchworth).

  Caught a slow boat, moored above Ironbridge lock for early lunch. Up to Boxworth, moored on the wrong side and BBQ

  B&Q for primer for boat pole, Berkhamstead for lunch at 1:30.Cowroast for PO and small windlass for N. Grand Junction at Bulborne. A+N in TWB up the Wendover Arm under battery power.

  Down Marsworth, onto the Aylesbury arm, into the basin. Mooring no problem, sorted out bus times, contacted Mark F and Dad

  To Leighton Buzzard by 11:30 - M off to look at railway, shopping etc - found some engine oil. Moored below Fenny Stratford lock

  Lunch at the Galleon, Cosgrove - broke the tiller pin whilst mooring! Stoke Bruerne very low - about 3 hours to get up. Navigation for tea. Engine oil changed

  M to museum, stayed for lunch. Moored Blisworthm TWB used for blackberry picking, Royal Oak for a pint.

  Down the Northampton arm, shortage of water, sheep stuck in mud below a lock. Moored Northampton, many new buildings etc since last time we were here. TWB exploration of navigable arm upstream of junction - the Westbridge arm

  Into the arm at 10, shallow but passable. Winding was hard work - eventually moored to bollards outside MegaBowl. Slow trip down to moor above bottom lock. Found rope and a bucket in the weed hatch. Up the locks - helped by M's friends Jim, Velda, and Corin.On to Gayton for water.
